This is episode #8 with Joyce Azzam. Joyce is the first Lebanese woman to climb 5 of 7 world summits. This coming November, she will be climbing Mount Vinson in Antarctica. And in the spring of 2019, she will attempt to climb Mount Everest. Her goal is to reach the 2 poles and become the second woman in the world to complete the Explorers Grand Slam. She’s keen to inspire girls and women to follow their dreams and challenge themselves through her #Yes_She_Can campaign.

In this episode, we talk about where her desire to climb mountains came from, why she’s hungry to climb 5 of 7 world summits, the Lebanese Civil War, the challenges she has faced by men to chase her dream, studying and living abroad and how that brought her confidence, and why mountains have made her a stronger person.
