The Best Place For Breakfast In Bed In Aspen: The St. Regis Aspen Resort

The newly renovated hotel is one of the best places to stay in the city where silver was discovered

Nestled in Aspen’s Rocky Mountains is a getaway so luxurious, you won’t want to leave the hotel, even to ski. The St. Regis Aspen is a Gilded Age inspired hotel that became a hotspot in the 1870s when silver was discovered and when corsets were a thing. Done in brick the hotel is inviting, and as soon as you enter from the outside you feel the warmth from the large fireplace directly ahead.

There’s a rustic glamor in the hotel’s style. Dark in tone, you feel like you’ve entered the home of Yellowstone’s John Dutton, with the Western-themed wall art and the myriad of Cowboy boots and Western attire walking through the lobby. The bar at the back of the lobby serves the hotel’s signature Bloody Mary, which was invented by the St. Regis and available complimentary for hotel guests daily at 11:15 AM. Once checked in, you’re whisked upstairs to your room or suite.

Deluxe rooms are done in neutral tones. The hotel was recently renovated and the taupe aesthetic makes the rooms feel larger. The artwork sketch prints of dogs will bring a smile to the faintest of dog lovers, but the crème de la résistance are the Ralph Lauren leather beds, which make for the best breakfast in bed room service experiences. With snow covering the mountains outside the window and a warm cozy breakfast, what more can you ask for?

Now to the breakfast. It can be had downstairs every morning. But, for all intents and purposes, this article is for us who like to have it in bed. Private dining is available from 6-11 AM, seven days a week. The menu is filled with the healthiest of items, and well, the tastiest of items to suit everyone’s taste bud desires.

Set breakfasts like the Wake Up ($32) come with fresh juice and House Made Oatmeal, or Granola with Greek Yogurt and a selection of pastries or toast. Or the Velvet Buck Sunrise ($45) comes with a choice of fresh juice, bowl of fresh fruit, two free range eggs styled how you want, bacon or sausage, homemade hashbrowns, a mixed green salad, and a selection of pastries and toast.

Griddle items for $24 are available like cinnamon French toast, buttermilk pancakes, and Belgian waffles- all coming with fresh berries. And Eggspectation items like Eggs Benedict ($28) or Eggs White Frittata ($26); as well as custom eggs made your way of two eggs served in any style ($22), or an omelette with your choice of filling ($26) is offered.

One of the most warming items is the Oatmeal Porridge, served with brown sugar, golden raisins, and sliced almonds. Other bowl items include cereal or homemade granola.

There are also side items of meats, fruit bowls, veggies, or plain yogurt, as well as bakery items of breads, muffins, and viennoiseries. The juices: carrot, pineapple, orange, or green are so fresh, and the hot drinks from a latte, cappuccino, mocha, and tea warm instantly.

Whatever your breakfast style is, the best part is when the butler brings the tray and sets it on your bed. Snuggling back into bed, in the St. Regis provided bathrobe, while watching the morning news makes breakfast all the more cozier.

The city has lovely hotels and all are a delight, but there’s no hotel like the St. Regis Aspen. It brings the glam of this famed Marriott brand to the city, and you do feel like you’re getting a five-star getaway with all the other amenities like the on-site dining options, the spa, the opportunity to have a Bloody every morning, or a swim in the heated outdoor pool surrounded by snow.
