Collaborating With Over 200 Artisans, Gaurav Gupta Unveils His 70 Piece AW26 Couture Collection, Not In Paris But In Mumbai

So, instead of unveiling his autumn-winter 2026 collection in Paris during Haute Couture Week, Indian designer Gaurav Gupta decided to do it in Mumbai at the Jio World Convention Centre…

The gown features over 5,000 individually hand-cut Camellia petals, meticulously crafted from fabric and embroidered with pearls and crystals before flowing into a matching veil. Taking 9 months to produce, which included over 200 artisans, six-thousand hours of craftsmanship done by hand, the collection of seventy couture pieces includes new textile developments, couture innovations, and archival house revivals. Themed “Light Song,” there are pieces of cocktail wear, occasion wear, bridal couture, and menswear that not awes, but stuns.

With Light Song, I wanted to expand that conversation into the universe around us. In Indian philosophy, the Moon and the Sun are not opposing forces, but companions, each revealing something the other cannot. That relationship became the emotional and creative foundation of the collection. Every chapter, every textile and every embroidery was developed to explore the dialogue between reflection and radiance, intuition and vitality, softness and strength.

We spent months pushing the possibilities of embroidery engineering, developing new jacquards and reimagining some of the House’s defining signatures, always guided by the extraordinary skill of our artisans. For me, couture is at its most meaningful when it transcends the garment. It becomes a way of preserving culture, expressing philosophy and offering a new way of seeing the world.

To pull off the collection the brand partnered with renowned beauty and luxury brands like MG automotive, which unveiled the couture edition of the MG, M9, and MG Cyberster; Kérastase India for all things hair; Favre Leuba, Switzerland’s second-oldest watch brand; HSBC India, where Gupta created a limited edition Mahjong set for the HSBC Hex Lounge; Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons Jewellers as the official jewelry partner; and Huda Beauty as the official beauty partner.

This collection, like everything Mr. Gupta does is rooted in purpose, tradition, craftsmanship, and philosophies that he holds dear. Somehow, by bridging heritage and innovation, his collection and this collection Light Song, is transformed into modern couture, giving the brand the ability to stretch its creative genius while paying homage to India’s rich artisanal legacy.
