Bringing out Lebanon’s frantic energy of the youth’s desire for freedom and rights, along with the challenges of the past four months, Chakra, in his SS20 collection embraced sophistication, with the current reality of what his people are going through. Keeping his family in mind, as well as all those who work for the House and in the atelier- who he all brought from Beirut to Paris for the first time, he was able to bring a floral motif to the collection, which symbolizes a change in the nation through peace. Each guest was given a white rose lapel pin, as flowers were significant in the collection. Mini dresses were adorned with ivory petals, or a tulle ensemble had roses.

From bubble dresses made with algorithmic geometry, to origami embroideries and pleated organza were paired with fitted bustiers, fluid capes and fabrics were adorned with feathers and hand-embroidered sequins. The color palette from white, to bright pink, aquatic blues, water green, lagoon, glacier, and iridescent jungle prints evokes wild nature between lush forests and the idea of a fantasy island.

The jewelry for the bride was designed by Chakra’s friend Fawaz Gruosi, in honor of their friendship. A high-jewelry designer, he created a white gold set with 46 pear shaped emeralds, 45 brilliant-cut white diamonds. The proceeds will be donated to the Beirut Children’s Cancer Hospital and the scholastics scholarships of St. Vincent de Paul School.
