Hedi Slimane Invites Us Back To His Childhood With Celine’s New Eau de Cologne Céleste

Celine under Hedi Slimane has produce some scintillating fragrances. Who can forget Nightclubbing, with its tobacco notes that linger in one’s olfactory senses? The House has a new fragrance, Eau de Cologne Céleste that we must open our hearts to and, I must say, it’s not disappointing.

The cologne is part of the Cologne Céleste bath line that was launched in June 2023: L’huile Céleste is perfumed oil for body and hair, giving all day protection to the skin and it gives your clothes and extra fragrant oomph. Le lait céleste pour le bain, is perfumed bath milk; and Le savon solide parfumé is perfumed solid soap. This line has been reinterpreted by Slimane and is an upgrade for bath time.

Comprised of Angelica, Sweet Lemon Essence, Petitgrain, Neroli, Ambrette Butter and Orris Butter notes, there’s something about it that’s enchantingly sweet. A fragrance is personal and Eau de Cologne Céleste is no different. Slimane is inviting us back to his childhood, allowing us to go farther than any eau de cologne could take us. With it he’s saying we too can go a step further with the right notes, to bath time, and relax with the right olfactory notes and continue smelling divine with the cologne. “I created the Eau de Cologne Céleste and its line for the intimate and comforting ritual of bathing,” he writes in collection notes. “This is an essential gesture that systematically plunges me back into the gentle and soothing atmosphere of childhood.”
