Parfums de Marly’s Newest Fragrance Perseus Is Divine

and just in time for the summer months

Perseus transports you to some Mediterranean Riviera, to a place brimming with orange trees and flowers. While there are many citrusy fragrances out there, Parfums de Marly has managed to create something so real and not too overbearing with its olfactory storytelling that, while gravitates towards men, it also works for women. Quite simply it’s divine and launches worldwide on March 26th.

With the 18th century at the heart of the brand Julien Sprecher, the founder wanted to create something that exuded French sensibility in the luxury fragrance market. Known for saying, “I wanted to build a House of Haute Parfumerie where tradition matches the present,” Sprecher has been able to create a bridge between three centuries ago and the 2020s. Parfums de Marly isn’t the cheap stuff, everything about each of its fragrances is quality.

Its newest fragrance, Perseus is inspired by the early mornings where the sun begins to creep in, illuminating a French cháteau, warming the garden grounds, and awakening the fountains as water begins to sprout out. The top notes of Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Blackcurrant Bud, along with the heart notes of Dry Woods, Cashmere Wood, Ambergris Accord, and the base notes of Balsam Fir, Woody Spices, and Tonka Bean all awaken. Hands down this is a summer fragrance and just in time for the warmer weather ahead.

While a woman can wear Perseus, its notes are very much tied to the ingredients found in classic men’s fragrances, says Sprecher. Its secret he says, is found in “the brightness of grapefruit, which contrasts immediately with an elegant woody facet.”

Coming in a citrusy orange box, and bottle of the same color, it’s the gold top that brings together the warmth and golden notes of Perseus. You can purchase the new fragrance on the Parfums de Marly website, Nordstrom, and at their New York City and Beverly Hills Flagship Boutiques.
