Rachel Zoe and Tom Lewis To Be Honored At The Second Annual Snow Ball In Aspen
Last year’s inaugural gala raised over $2.5M for pediatric cancer research, this year Balmain is stepping in and supporting the benefit that will make a positive impact on children with cancer and blood disorders
Set to take place on February 3, 2024 at the newly renovated St. Regis Aspen Resort is the Aspen Snow Ball. In its second edition, Thomas Pierce, the Founding Chair that founded the Children’s Oncology Support Fund (COSF), who is also an LA-based film producer and philanthropist believes that the event will go far in raising money for children with cancer at the Children’s Hospital Colorado, by establishing a new endowed fund for the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders Wellness Program (CCBD).
“This year will be even more exciting for our donors offering an incredible lineup of celebrity talent, hospitality and curated programming. Community is high on our list of values, bringing our patrons together for multiple days raises the bar above other galas,” says Pierce in notes. Philanthropists in the US and abroad are supporting the event.
The Ball will be hosted by Giuliana Rancic, where COSF’s US Ambassador Rachel Zoe and Tom Lewis will receive the Community Leadership Award. “I'm honored to host the 2nd Annual Aspen Snow Ball gala. As a mother and cancer survivor, I know first-hand how important this work is. I'm proud to be associated with a foundation that is shedding light on pediatric cancer with the goal of providing wellness programs to children and their families battling cancer. It's a family issue and COSF's values are aligned with mine so I’m really looking forward to the big event," says Rancic.
One might ask, why should I spend $2,500 on a ticket to the Ball, when there are wars being fought and people in need? But, the larger question could be: if I have the funds to support children suffering with cancer and blood disorders, why not? Tickets over the course of the four days can be purchased separately to fit everyone’s budget.
Harry Santa-Olalla will conduct the live auction, which include experiences like a meet-and-greet with Pope Francis in Vatican City, an exclusive curated trip for four at Gozzer Ranch Golf & Lake Club donated by Mike Meldman and Discovery Land Company, jewelry pieces from Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels, a limited-edition Sculpture by Formed For and a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork by Mr. Brainwash. The silent auction includes pieces from Ellen von Unwerth, Jake Clark, Olivia Steele, and luxury items by Dior, Dr. Barbara Sturm, Moncler, Bottega Veneta, Maison Spoiled, Larry Flowers Jewelry and Balmain.
“There’s something magical about a formal affair in Aspen that you can’t create anywhere else. I wanted to share the best of Aspen, and contribute to the local community all while impacting the lives of children battling cancer,” continues Pierce. Swedish singer Tove Lo and American guitarist Nile Rogers & Chic will perform at the Ball. But, Pierce doesn’t do just one-night events and understandably so. It can be tricky flying into Aspen with the snow and visibility, resulting in delayed flights or baggage, or both. So, festivities will take place over four days.
In addition to the gala, from February 1-4th, there will be an opening night reception at the ultra-exclusive AspenX Mountain Club, an Aprés Ski Soirée at The St. Regis Aspen Resort Fountain Courtyard, and a Mad Hatter Tea Party hosted by vice-chairs Scott and Carly Weber at The Snow Lodge Aspen. DJ Coco and Aspen locals Kid Kamillion and DJ Dirty Harry will perform during the weekend.
