Review: Sheraton Grand London Park Lane
A magnificent edifice that faces Green Park | Photos supplied
Background
What’s great about the hotel is that it’s full of history going back to the 1920s, opening in 1927 in fact. The hotel underwent a two-year renovation. Valued for its location and centrality, you will be at Waterstones and Fortnum and Mason with a 10-minute brisk walk.

From the entrance to The Palm Court just off from the lobby in the center of the hotel with its stained-glass ceiling and original bar and 1920 intimate art deco vibes. While the hotel is beautiful it’s the staff that is noticeably warm and inviting.

Food and Drink

The Sheraton Club lounge is for guests in suits or club rooms, where they enjoy VIP amenities. It comes with a complimentary breakfast buffet, as well as drinks and canapes throughout the day. The Mercante Restaurant has an Italian menu including rich and almost-creamy-like burrata with aubergine, cherry tomatoes, and pine nuts- and the Fritto Misto, a seafood appetizer of fried prawns, calamari and white fish, come with aioli mayo. The food is absolutely divine and cooked fresh to the perfect texture. The Rump of Lamb is succulent and cooked in a rosemary sauce, and goes perfectly with a side of broccoli that’s seasoned with garlic and chili. There are wonderful desserts to follow, but the raspberry sorbet is tart yet sweet, tasty, and goes down well after a full meal.
Leisure
There is an onsite gym with cardio machines and weights for lifting. And with Green Park across from the hotel and St. James Park close by, which both offer outdoor exercise jogging or walking options.
Verdict
Stay here. Whether you’re looking for a weekend staycation or visiting London this hotel is favored due to its location and affordable luxury. From the staff and the menu options you won’t be dissatisfied.
