Saks Fifth Avenue and Saturday Night Live Have Teamed Up to Celebrate SNL’s 50th Anniversary

Saks Fifth Avenue and SNL have worked with brands Favorite Daughter and La Labo Fragrances to create one-of-a-kind merchandise.

The recognized show and renowned department store have created a dedicated landing page where people can shop all things SNL

 

You can now shop all things SNL, explore editorial content and videos of comedic sketches and characters from the show that has impacted America’s pop culture. Also coming this month will be limited-time pop-up shops at Saks Fifth Avenue stores in New York and Beverly Hills. There will also be a fascinating window display commemorating the new partnership.

The SNL-inspired products are from Favorite Daughter and Le Labo Fragrances, and they can only be found at Saks Fifth Avenue or on the landing page. The Favorite Daughter items include sweatshirts, t-shirts, tote bags, hats, jeans, and a jean jacket with archival imagery from the last 50 years of the show etched on. Le Labo has created a unique version of its Classic Candle in their signature SANTAL 26 scent. From January 10 until February 10, the popup shop on the 5th floor of Saks is an immersive experience of its own. From January 23 until February 24, visitors can purchase exclusive SNL merchandise on the main floor of Saks women’s store on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills.

In Midtown Manhattan, the famed Saks Fifth Avenue department store that has been around since 1924 and SNL, which is the most Emmy-winning show in history with 101 Emmy wins, sit right across the street from each other, near Rockefeller Plaza. “We are excited to partner with Saturday Night Live, bringing together two iconic brands that have shaped culture and delighted our respective audiences for decades,” said Emily Essner, President & Chief Commercial Officer, Saks Global in announcement notes. “Through this collaboration, we will create experiences that resonate with our customers and honor the dynamic spirit of New York City, while spotlighting Saks Fifth Avenue’s unparalleled world of luxury and style alongside SNL’s cutting-edge comedy and cultural commentary.” 

To honor their partnership, SNL introduced a new title sequence this season that includes cast members at notable locations around New York City, like the “Weekend Update” co-anchor Colin Jost in a window at Saks Fifth Avenue. Bowen Yang and Chloe Fineman, cast members from the show are active members of Saks Fifth Avenue’s preeminent luxury brand ambassador program called the Saks Social Club, that unites tastemakers who embody the store’s spirit of sophistication and creativity.

 

The landing page, saks.com/SNL50 is a place where SNL lovers can go on a 50-year time lapse of nostalgia. Visitors can browse ten sketches, two from each decade with a summary of each scene and embedded video clips. “Partnering with Saks Fifth Avenue for Saturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary is an incredible way to honor the cultural impact of the show over the past five decades,” said Tom Broecker, Producer/Costume Designer, Saturday Night Live. “Fashion is paramount for us to bring our characters to life and resonate so strongly with our viewers. For over a century Saks has introduced Americans to luxury fashion, and SNL has produced comedy performers that have become renowned actors. With 150 years of history between the two, both Saks Fifth Avenue and SNL have greatly impacted American culture.
