The Blessing Of Having God Fearing Men In My Life
I grew up with three brothers and a phenomenal father in my life. As a child, I grew tired of my brothers because he would always ridicule me and treat me like a child. As I grew older and started to attend school, I was typically called my brothers little sister. As you probably are thinking, yes, I was very annoyed by that name. It was not until middle school that I started to understand what a blessing it is to have brothers.
I was a very inquisitive adolescent. Oftentimes, I would ask many questions to my brothers. Many times, my brothers would give me phenomenal responses, and other times, they would give me jokingly replies. I started to adore my conversations with my brothers because they were all so very wise. As I entered college, my relationship with my brothers evolved. I was able to go to them with questions about young adulthood, how to progress through life, and what to invest. My brothers' responses always developed and matured. They would give me feedback that was helpful and insightful. One thing I truly loved about their feedback was that many times it was backed up by scripture or faith. All of my brothers and my father are Christian Men. As I developed, I learned the importance of having men in my life that are of the faith.
Men of the faith give wise counsel; these men are slow to anger and quick to listen. Men of the faith understand that everything they do has meaning and purpose, they do not lollygag and involve themselves and meaningless things. I valued that in my brothers, when we joked around, they would never say anything that would potentially hurt me. There were moments when their counsel may have been rigid and hard to hear, but, they would always follow up to make sure I received it well and accepted my feedback. I truly value the relationship I have with my brothers, father, and men of faith in my life.
I pray you are blessed with phenomenal men of faith in your life.
