13 films and TV show won big during the night

 

On Tuesday evening, the 63rd Monte-Carlo Television Festival held their closing ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum where films, TV shows, and documentaries in competition won awards. It’s also where the Monegasque royal family and actors gathered on the blue carpet to celebrate the evening. In attendance this were the likes of Morgan Freeman (The Gray House), Kelly Rutherford (from Gossip Girl), Eva Morgan (from ITV’s The Gathering), and Fiona Gubelmann and Will Yun Lee (from the ABC series The Good Doctor)

As attendees gathered and the lights turned down low, a bagpiper performed Amazing Grace, where Vincent Niclo took to the stage and sang to the tune. A lot of talent and moving work was presented, but the winners and their work was well deserved. For fiction, Swedish film Little Did I Know won Best Film, while the UK’s ITV show The Gathering won Best Series, Kiwi film Madam won Best Creation, Eva Morgan from The Gathering won Best Actress and Warren Brown from the same series won Best Actor. Because he was filming in Australia, he received his award via video. Israeli actress from the renowned show Shtisel and Netflix’s Unorthodox Shira Haas won the Jury Special Prize for the film Night Therapy.

Under the Public Prize category, German series Helgoland 513 won the BetaSeries Public Prize. For documentaries, French production La Guerre de L’info: Israël/Hamas won Best News Program, the UK’s Ukraine’s War: The Other Side won Best Documentary, and Broken Dream from Italy won the Jury Special Prize. Minds of Death from Sweden won the Amade prize and The Law of the Sea won the Monaco Red Cross Prize. Prince Albert II and wife, Princess Charlene presented the Prix Special Prince Rainier III Prize to Germany production Wie Extrem Wird das Wetter, Sven Plöger? Die Maacht des El Niño.

It was in the 1960s that Prince Rainier III created the festival. It was an ambitious venture created to promote contributions and to entertain people, while championing peace and goodwill. Over the years, the festival has brought together top those in the film and television worlds with those in the entertainment industries.
