The Most Sought-After Beauty Suite At The Cannes Film Festival: Dior Returns To the Croisette With A Theme Of Sky Blue Tones- A Nod To The Riviera

This year’s suite is an invitation to take in the sea with the brand’s iconic Masquerade couture motif…

Every year Dior Beauty gets celebrities ready for the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival and this edition is no different. Located on the 6th floor of the Majestic Hotel, visitors of the brand can step into a 3,700 square foot+ wonderland of white and sky-blue tones.

Getting your makeup done is just as captivating as taking in the themed ambience of the suite. Each year we’re like a kid in candy store, excited to see what Dior Beauty has aesthetically created for its festival theme. This year, the striped pattern with hand-drawn effects is a prelude to the blue Riviera coastline, which draws those who visit the suite in. The Dior Masquerade couture motif is an ode to the art of film costume design, an inspiration taken from Christian Bérard’s illustrations for Mr. Dior. On the wall, guests will also find various characters dressed up for a masquerade ball.

Stepping into the suite, you’ll find an old-fashioned tent in the center reception- a room within a room- of a reception room and a decorated boudoir (or women’s private dressing room) with vanity table and bench that encourages conversation.  In the main reception room are palm tree lamps, a white sofa and armchairs that are turned towards the terrace that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. The Dior Masquerade motif is a constant presence throughout the space.

The makeup room is under the direction of Dior’s backstage Pros Norman Pohl, Jamie Coombes, Junior Cedeno, Ricky Wilson, Serby Gil, and international makeup artists Aurore Gautier, Kristina Vidic, Ruby Mazuel, Khela, Phophie Matthias, Christina LutCarole Hannah and Alexandra Schiavi. The team has always been welcoming and warm during our visits, and as each will expresses their own creativity on celebrities, under the direction of Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup.

Facial treatments are done by House experts in the treatment room, featuring the iconic Dior cannage motif on mirrors surrounded by neon lights. Sarah Akram, skincare expert and U.S. House Ambassador, along with Hadda Akrim, Dior Global Wellness Expert are on hand to help guests to House facial treatments before they embark on the red carpet.

It’s not just The Majestic Hotel that will be buzzing with Dior Beauty fever, La Terrasse by Albane on the rooftop of the JW Marriott, a long-standing partner of Dior will have a hair and makeup set up. The space makes it possible for celebrities to get makeup quickly done before taking part in photo shoots and interviews. Dyson Beauty has partnered with Dior for top notch hair styling during the festival. The famed Dyson Supersonic r™ hair dryer along with brand hair products will also be used to get celebrities ready. Pierre Saint-Sever, Dyson Ambassador and Cabin Lead is overseeing hair direction, working with stylists to create unique and tailored looks. As a way to keep celebrities cool, Dyson will debut their HushJet™ Mini Cool handheld fan.

Checking the Dior Beauty Instagram page every day will enable you to see the results of work of the beauty team throughout the festival.
