Baheej Is Set To Open A New Boutique Wellness Resort On Saudi Arabia’s Yanbu Coastline

The hotel will include intense wellness programs and ultimate relaxation

It’s not new news that Saudi Arabia is going through major growth. In fact, that would be an understatement, the Kingdom is going through expansive growth and what would take 40 years to build, the Crown Prince is challenging his government ministers to do in 5 years. This massive growth extends to luxury tourism. It was announced today that there will be new development along Saudi’s Yanbu coastline by Baheej, a destination developer in the country backed by the country’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) company with the Tamimi-AWN Alliance. Baheej is a collaborative venture between ASFAR, the Saudi Tourism Investment Company, and private partners AWN and Tamimi Group, all with an ethos to create soulful tourism destinations in the Kingdom.

This Yanbu Waterfront project will include 34 boutique rooms that will include ancestral wellness practices, along with modern design and design touches from the region’s seafaring heritage. “This project is a reflection of Baheej’s vision to enrich Saudi destinations with meaning, not just infrastructure,” says Norah Al Tamimi, CEO of Baheej in announcement notes. “Our wellness resort is more than a place to stay — it’s an experience crafted around the values of balance, beauty, and belonging. We believe it will become a new symbol of Yanbu’s evolving identity as a serene coastal escape.”

Yanbu is a city in Saudi’s Medina province, and about 186 miles from Jeddah. The city is known for its grassy lawns and beaches on Oyster Island. The resort will include private sea view cabanas and will provide an opportunity for people to dive deep into intense wellness. There will be a signature spa with design aspects that pay homage to the pearl, which is part of Yanbu’s heritage.

"The design, developed by Spectrum Architecture, draws deeply from the soul of Yanbu," says Stefano Lopez, Senior Director at Baheej. “It reinterprets the poetry of seafaring traditions and the calm resilience of the sea into a space of reflection, comfort, and transformation.

Baheej is reimagining local tourism with unique and genuine experiences that highlight Saudi heritage. What sets Saudi Arabia apart from its regional neighbors is its ability to hold on to its culture while it expands and innovates. In this project, the aim of Baheej is to transform Yanbu into a gateway to the Red Sea Riviera, tying together Saudi nature, culture, and community. Joining the area will be Cloud 7 Lifestyle hotel by Kerten Hospitality, Kaynuna Beach Escape, and the upcoming Jaba Tour Center and Diving Club.

ASFAR, part of the PIF is the key that makes many projects in the Kingdom a reality. Partnering with the public and private sector, and investing in key sectors like hospitality, entertainment, F&B, and tourism have made resorts like Shebara possible. ASFAR has ten destinations across the Kingdom in the works, and forged dozens of strategic partnerships to deliver on its mandate and accelerate progress toward Vision 2030 tourism goals.
