Fang Yang Unveils byFang’s AW26 Couture Collection

And, the brand announces its new Shanghai flagship store opening…

byFang is a fashion brand deeply rooted in Chinese artistry and French couture know-how. Co-founded by husband and wife duo Fang Yang and Grégoire Caillol- she’s the creative brain behind the brand and he’s the business brain. During Haute Couture Week, the brand welcomed friends, media, and clients to discover its autumn-winter 2026 collection.

Taking me through the collection, Yang explained that as a child her grandmother gave her sheets of paper to do origami. “We didn’t have things like iphones to keep us busy. We played with simplicity. And it’s through origami that I fell in love with design,” she explained to Seele. One look she showed me had miniature sized fortune teller origami pieces covering the bodice. The brand and pieces in the collection are truly wearable art, with other origami creations covering silhouettes. The skirting of many gowns are pleated. And, the color palette of red, black and white gowns are colors that are significant to Chinese culture.

The brand also just opened its flagship store in Shanghai, on West Fuxing Road in the city’s historic French Concession. It’s a hub for retail and culture where the first floor is for the public, and where they can view the latest ready-to-wear collections. Upstairs is a private couture salon and collaborative spaces for artists to speak, work on special projects, and partnership with other artists.

In early 2027 the brand will launch a new fragrance. This opening is a new chapter for the brand, where it aims to scale with its ready-to-wear collection and larger lifestyle vision.
