Julien Fournié’s Fall 2024 Haute Couture Collection Is All About Marie-Antoinette
The designer calls her the undisputed initiator of Haute Couture
Julien Fournié has worked very hard to get to where he is now. One of the few authentic Haute Couture designers, he was inspired by Marie-Antoinette, the last queen of France for his fall 2024 collection. With 6 looks Fournié pieces that exuded her celebrity and historic iconic status.
Held at Musée Grévin in Paris, guests were mesmerized by the way Fournié does things. He doesn’t do boring runway shows, he puts pizazz into what he presents to the world. “Marie-Antoinette was a model of style for all the courts of Europe. She has started the movement at the very origin of fashion: preferring what is new to what has always been considered beautiful,” explains Fournié in collection notes.
It all started when the museum contacted Fournié to create an outfit for a statue of the late queen. And with six looks the designer has created pieces that bring history and fashion to life. From June 28 until September 1st, the looks are on display at the museum in an exhibition titled “Last Queen.” "I am very happy to make this luxury accessible to a popular audience eager for fashion culture, especially at a time when Paris is welcoming the world for the Olympic Games,” says Fournié.
