A modern twist on heritage fashion
There’s nothing like being in Savile Row in London. Passing the myriad of tailors with their store front windows of carefully bespoke done suits, is like nonother. And if you happen to venture inside and see the process of suit making, you appreciate the craft all the more. Penhaligon’s get is and that’s why they created a new fragrance, The Cut dedicated to Savile Row, which is part of its British Tales collection.
“The Cut captures the spirit of contemporary fashion while honoring the house’s rich heritage in craftsmanship.”
This new fragrance was created to redefine the classic fougère (one of the main olfactive families of perfumes) with a distinctly modern twist. It’s for the consumer who values heritage and forward-thinking artistry, notes Penhaligon’s. Since its where fine fragrance meets high fashion, making it a symbol of the bridge of fashion and carefully crafted perfumery. The brand was careful to create a fragrance that’s modern yet steeped in the roots of heritage and craftsmanship.

Cooked up by perfumer Paul Guerlain, the grandson of Jean-Paul Guerlain- a renowned perfumer himself for the House of Gerlain. The younger Guerlain has worked with the International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), and has positioned The Cut to be the centerpiece of the direction Penhaligon’s is veering to take, which is: bridging tradition with innovation.
Up first waft, you’ll notice how the fougère opens with crisp mint and basil. Notes of earthy and woody cypress brings an elevated hint of elegance. Lavendar, clary sage, and vetiver add refinement; while fir balsam brings together all ingredients, forming a strikingly modern yet timeless scent- explains the brand.
The Cut is a unique concept and blend of fashion and the art of bespoke tailoring. Its striking scent will draw you in.
