Run The Race
Wow, how wonderful it will be to have our Savior say this to us one day. What a privilege it will be to have fought the good fight and finished the race.
I know it's never easy to push through the valleys of life. Every day will not be a mountain top experience, nor should we want that for our lives. We must understand that some days will be hard and will feel like the pain is never ending, however, we must keep going, we must run the race.
Look at the example of the tortoise and the hare, the moral of the fable is that, you can be more successful by doing things slowly and steadily than by acting quickly and carelessly. This is how God wants us to run the race of life, He doesn’t want us to rush through life aimlessly or carelessly, He wants us to trust in Him and look to Him as a guide in our lives. He wants us to take the time to focus on Him during this race and allow the Holy Spirit to work in us and through us. We can only do this if we give God total access to us and our lives. He has to live within us so that we can do the good works He has for us.
The best way to not get off course when running this race is to look to Christ. When you hit a bump in the road, stop and look to God, ask Him, “are you trying to get my attention?” God has a reason for everything and often times, He just wants us to slow down and incline our ears to Him and His plan for us.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7-8
