This is the singer’s first fragrance campaign and the brand’s first partnership with a major award-winning music artist


When you think of the Ralph Lauren man, you think tailored suits, double-breasted suits, a sharp angled jawline, cigars, and elegance. Usher is all this and his debonair style, coupled with his music talent and being an eight-time Grammy Award winner was a no brainer when deciding to make him the face of their Club New York. “Crafted for the true maverick of style, the spirit of Ralph’s Club New York captures the timeless glamour of Manhattan's golden age; celebrating the city's modern energy, authenticity and enduring excellence,” states the brand in announcement notes.

For over 40 years, Ralph Lauren Fragrances has crafted sought-after fragrances that have their own personality and luxury lifestyle. It all started in 1978, when Mr. Lauren himself expanded his lifestyle brand to include fragrances, launching Lauren for women and Polo for men.

When looking for the face of Club New York, Ralph Lauren was drawn to Usher’s iconic hits like “Yeah!”, “U Got It Bad,” “My Boo,” and “Confessions.” And also, to the fact that his breaking of boundaries from his Las Vegas residency, his selling of 80 million+ records, his 2024 Super Bowl halftime performance, and his New Look Foundation that has empowered more than 60,000 teens for 25 years were all factors in their decision. “I have the greatest respect and admiration for what Mr. Lauren has accomplished and I could not be more happy and proud to join Ralph Lauren Fragrances,” explains Usher in notes. “This is a brand that represents the best of who I want to be as an entrepreneur, a creator, and a man. You’ll first notice the note of blackcurrant, as it blends into the notes of creamy Vanilla and Sandalwood. The top notes include Blackcurrant Accord, Essence of Green Italian Mandarin, Bergamot Calabria Heart, while the base notes have Moss Accord, Fir Balsam, and Infusion of Premium Bourbon Vanilla Madagascar; and the middle notes are comprised of Lavender, Geranium Bourbon Madagascar Heart, and Sandalwood. Ralph’s Club New York is the first fougère ambery within the Ralph Lauren Fragrance portfolio.
