Bahareh Ardakani Unveils ArdAzAei’s AW26 Collection During Paris Fashion Week
Piggy-backing off the brand’s Couture theme of “The Folded Sea,” you will find precise detailing in the cuts and shapes- most especially the knitwear…
Launched just 5 years ago, ArdAzAei is doing well for itself. Founded by Bahareh Ardakani, an engineer turned fashion designer of Persian heritage, it’s possible to see strong hints of architectural lines, shapes, and volume in the cuts and embroidery. As I walked through the autumn-winter 2026 collection in their atelier on Tuesday I was taken by looks with semi-couture inspiration.
The Maison presents two prêt-à-porter (ready-to-wear) collections per year with a focus on looks that flow well from day to evening, with footwear that’s unique and handmade. With a nod to all things eco-friendly, this collection is certified by the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) auditor Ecocert Greenlife.
Inspired by all thing’s sea, the same inspiration was taken for the Couture collection in January, named The Folded Sea. Waves and sea urchins are the center with intricate detailing showing their form.
“Drawing inspiration from The Folded Sea, I wanted to continue exploring folds and pleats – origami, geometric cuts and layered constructions, approaching the many volumes and symmetries that emerge from them through a precise and mathematical lens,” says Ardakani. “Extending this exploration into prêt-à-porter opens new horizons; working with beautiful materials while translating couture techniques into simplified yet elevated silhouettes.”
Tailoring is strongly poignant in jackets and coats. Signature styles are included while new forms are introduced like the enigmatically draped cashmere cape. The geometrical shape of the sea urchin is expressed in materials like embroidered silk, organza and glass beads enlivening the hems of a sculpted cashmere coat and jacket.

Knitwear is central in the form of cardigans, fitted skirts, and fluid-sleeved tops. Perfect for those super cold days, knitwear can also be matched with dresses in the collection. What’s great about the pieces is that they range in color palettes from soft ochres and deep browns.
ArdAzAei is a culmination of Ardakani’s name, as well as her parents’ names, which can be found in the logo. It’s a brand that signifies family, heritage, quality craftsmanship, and science. This collection is an expression of the elemental femininity of the oceans, yet in the form of womenswear.
