The brand also shared glimpse of its new coffee table book that dives into House history

As the skies closed in and rain poured, renowned Parisian shoe and accessories brand Roger Vivier cozied up and welcomed fashion connoisseurs to see some amazing treats cooked up by the Maison and the Creative Director, Mr. Gherardo Felloni.

As guests entered the Salon de Héritage, it was possible to take in a museum-esque set up of the history of the house, seeing shoes from times past on display, and the new coffee table book. Back to that in a moment. In the Salon Roger Vivier, Global Brand Ambassador Ines de la Fressange and book curator Elizabeth Semmelhack engaged in conversation with guests. Semmelhack possess a wealth of shoe history knowledge and passion of the book oozed from conversation with her.

Okay, to the book, Roger Vivier: Heritage and Imagination details the history of the Maison. The book dives into the archives, detailing cultural moments and the modern era of a brand that has dressed iconic women throughout time. And, it presents the brand’s brand new monograph.

In Felloni’s office, guests were introduced to the collection, taking in the mood board inspiration behind the collection, and seeing the bags on display.

Atelier Animalier as a language

Animalier according to the Maison is a language rooted in instinct, movement and sensuality, and deeply tied to the vision of Monsieur Vivier, who from the 1960s onward used animalier motifs to express power, elegance and transformation.”

Felloni dove into the 1960s reimagining leopard, zebra and giraffe motifs. Leather can’t be found in the collection, a nod to the Maison’s sustainable and animal caring ethos. Instead, Felloni did something much harder than leather. He put on his craftsmanship hat and created 11 Efflorescence handbags from beads, feathers, embroidery, metal applications, crystals, and semi-precious stones.

A sophisticated collection, a feminine collection, and a historically inspired collection. We all need some animal prints in our lives and Roger Vivier knows how to make it happen.
