Gigi Pip Hat Craze: Ginger Parrish Opens Up About Wearing Many Hats
Plus, find out when the brand and Two Roads Hat Co., is opening up their first flagship store outside of Salt Lake City
Gigi Pip was started by Ginger Parrish and her husband Jon, particularly for the woman that wears “many hats” in life. Ginger also wanted to share her love of hats with the world, while empowering women at the same time through this millinery art form, as she felt there were not quality Western hats for women on the market for women. Nine years later, Gigi Pip is continuing to inspire wearers with their unique styles of hats, at an inclusive price point that won’t break the bank. Two Roads Hat Co., their men’s hat line was launched to appease men who were asking: what about us? The two brands will launch their first flagship store outside of Salt Lake City, Utah where they’re headquartered, in Nashville in the spring of 2025.
Ginger and her design team have created a plethora of hats, in various styles but mostly Western inspired. Take the Lane Brick Top hat $154 for example, with its stiff yet traditional wide western brim, and brick top style crown comes in four colors: cream, brown, dark brown, and black. It’s like a modern twist on a traditional cowboy hat. They also create hat bands and trims, hat stands, ball caps, sunglasses, bags, beanies, and scarves.
But I need to take a moment to talk about the Hayes Hat Carrying Tote ($368). It’s the first product of Gigi Pip that I ever saw before any hat of theirs when I was scrolling through Instagram a few years ago. When I saw the tote that a hat can be attached to, I thought how genius. For all the women who have had to travel (even just around town) with a big hat, having to hold it all the time, such a bag makes life easier. But there’s also their Hat Travel Case $196 just for travel.
It was announced this month by Southwest Value Partners, the owner and developer of Nashville Yards that Gigi Pip and Two Roads Hat Co., are opening their first store outside of Utah, in Nashville’s Nashville Yards in March 2025. This flagship store will be 2,000+ square feet at the base of The Everett, a soon-to-be residential tower that will include 361 one- and two-bedroom residences. Inside there will be a hat bar where hats can be customized by any style, size, shape, and accessories. There is also a music venue space inside the store that is called The Pinnacle, where curated events and live performances will be held.
“We have an amazing customer base in Nashville and are thrilled to be opening our doors here full-time. We're blending our full product line with exclusive offerings and a world-class custom hat bar that most Gigi Pip customers have yet to experience!" says Ginger in announcement notes.
“Gigi Pip and Two Roads are known for their classic, timeless hats, and the cool, confident vibe of their loyal customers,” says Cary Mack, Managing Partner, Southwest Value Partners. “Ginger and Jon Parrish have a terrific vision and two unique brands that are a great fit for Nashville Yards. We are excited to have them on board and as they bring what will be destination shopping experience to Music City.”
Launching a hat brand with a deeper metaphorical meaning of there being a brand out there that supports women who wear many hats is exhilarating.
