The Review

Background

Opened in 2022, the Embassy Suites by Hilton was a move to glam up this brand that’s known for its family-friendly aesthetic. Because the hotel is in Music City, there are strong musical tones like the roof top bar that’s the shape of a bow fiddle. The hotel also flows in line with the Embassy Suites’ extended stay feel, with every room having a kitchenette, mini fridge, microwave, sink, and counter.

Where Is it?

In the heart of downtown, guests can walk anywhere within minutes.

What’s It Like?

The hotel is a switch up from the typical Embassy Suites you may remember from your childhood. You won’t find a pentagon shaped lobby with strong chlorine notes coming from the indoor pool. Nope, what you’ll find is a modern lobby with three check in desks, scattered seating, and lobby café. Along with the modern aesthetics you’ll find neutral tones in the lobby, wood accenting, and murals of legendary music artists.

There are 507 rooms and various room types. The King Suites are on floors 4-6 and come with balconies. Rooms are modern with wood accenting and comfy leather or cloth chairs. Music related art can be found on the walls of rooms, reminding you of the value of music.

The King Suite With Skyline View is spacious with 500 square feet, and fits a family for four perfectly with a private bedroom and a pull out sofa in the living room. There is a 55-inch TV in both the bedroom and living room. Not all King Suites have a dividing door between the bedroom and living room, so definitely ask about this. This suite type tends to be on higher floors offering views of Broadway and the Cumberland River. The room is decorated with neutral color tones and includes wood accenting. And, it comes with amenities like the hotel’s renowned made-to-order breakfast, complimentary evening reception, and digital key.

Food & Drink

Breakfast is offered every morning on the 4th floor with healthy options like cereals, oatmeal, and fruits. There is a hot buffet with eggs, bacon, and an omelet station and waffle maker.

Before dining at Handcut Chophouse for dinner, have a drink and lite bites at The Overlook on the 30th floor. Live music is offered every Thursday- Saturday from 7-10pm. The Overlook is open Sunday-Wednesday 12 noon to 10pm, and Thursday-Saturday 11am-11pm.

For dinner you don’t want to miss Hand Cut Chophouse, which was birthed in Scottsdale, Arizona. It’s the it-place steakhouse in the city and can be accessed from the hotel’s lobby or its separate entrance on 7th Street. A good place to start is the Waffle Cone Old Fashioned that has a sweeter hint than the typical Old Fashioned. It’s a must-try. The Spinach Artichoke Dip is a good place to start. Its cheese blend hits the palette and is easily shareable. If you’re looking for something light yet tasty, you can never go wrong with a burrata, and the Beets and Burrata is made with golden beets and sits on an arugula salad that’s perfectly seasoned with an herb salt and hibiscus honey dressing- and of course the burrata. And the Honey Garlic Wings with herb honey sauce are seasoned well, and makes for watching the game all the more enjoyable.

There are items besides steak on the menu, like salmon, burgers, and pasta, but we opted for a good filet. The Black Truffle Coulotte, a grilled sirloin cap comes cut, and sits on a rich black truffle cream with truffle infused butter. It’s a good choice if you’re looking for a gluten free option. You’ll find short rib, a tomahawk, and a flat iron on the menu as well. Sides are meant to be shared and you won’t go wrong with Black Truffle Mash or the Three Cheese Mac & Cheese.

There are only three dessert items: Brioche Bread Pudding, Butter Cake, and S’mores Lava Cake. We opted for the latter and you won’t be disappointed with it. Sitting on top of the molten chocolate cake is the most divine raspberry sauce, and on top of that is a marshmallow whip. Prepare to be amazed. Your taste buds will be.

Good Citizen Co. is located on the ground floor and serves up coffees, teas, and juices, as well as café nibbles.

Leisure

There is an onsite fitness center and indoor pool on the roof level. What better way to swim than with the sky view of Nashville as the backdrop
