Rixos To Open A Resort In Phú Quốc Vietnam Later In 2025

A fishing village turned desirable island destination, that will feature the brand’s “All-Inclusive, All-Exclusive” concept in Southeast Asia

Southeast Asia has become a sought-after vacation destination, and Vietnam is a wanderlust spot. As Americans are starting to travel farther and wider, this nation that the US was once at war with, is a hot spot. From New York City, Ho Chi Minh City is 20 hours, while Hanoi is 19 hours, and Phú Quốc is almost 21 hours in travel time. Rixos will open a new hotel, developed in partnership with Sun Entertainment & Hospitality Group and Ennismore on Pearl Island in Phú Quốc later this year. Rixos Phú Quốc promises to take all-inclusive to the next level with Pearl Island.

Cable car to Hon Thom

Not to confuse you, but Pearl Island is set on Pineapple Island (known as Hon Thom), which is connected by the world’s largest non-stop three-way cable car (according to the Guinness World Records). According to notes from the resort: it sits within Sun Group’s expansive entertainment ecosystem (Sun Paradise Land), a vibrant playground of culture, nature, and innovation.

The resort will feature Rixos’ award-winning “All-Inclusive, All-Exclusive” concept in Asia. So, what does this mean you ask? Along with its programming, there will be bold design, cultural immersion, and elevated comfort. There will also be over 1,700 guest rooms and 22 culinary experiences, beach entertainment, wellness, family-friendly experiences, high-energy lifestyle, cultural connections, and all-sensory experiences. Rixos, which started in 2000 is known for its luxurious all-inclusive vacations, with entertainment and wellness spas that include an authentic Turkish Hammam in every resort.

At Rixos Phú Quốc, guests will be able to sand-bike through botanical gardens and have sunset cocktails with sea views. There will also be water sports and live shows at night.

Symphony of the Sea

Outside of the resort

“The island itself invites discovery, from high-adrenaline adventures at Sun World Hon Thom and underwater explorations at the Eco Beach Diving Center,” explains announcement notes. Guests can take cultural strolls across Kiss Bridge and see art performances in Sunset Town, featuring a firework display every day of the year and the Guinness record-breaking "Kiss of the Sea show," with the world's largest permanent water projection theater. With lively night markets like VUI-Fest Bazaar, local artistry, and forest-to-sea golf, Phú Quốc offers something for every explorer.

Visa regulations for US citizens

In 2024, 717,000 Americans traveled to Vietnam for vacation, according to The Hanoi Times. The US is the third-largest market tourism group for Vietnam, following South Korea, and China, according to VnExpress International. This is probably due to Vietnam’s history with the US, it’s culture, its landscape, and low travel cost.

And while Vietnam is appealing to Americans, US citizens do need a visa to enter the country, of which they can apply for an e-visa online, apply at the Vietnamese embassy or consulate, or get one on arrival. But, Phú Quốc has its own visa policy, which is the only destination in Vietnam with a unique visa policy. According to current regulations, foreigners and Vietnamese people holding foreign passports, who enter or reside on Phu Quoc Island are exempt from visas for a temporary stay of up to 30 days.
