Why Everyone Is Talking About The New Shebara Resort

Reservations now open for stays at Shebara in Saudi Arabia’s The Red Sea destination

Well, probably because it looks like the most futuristic ultra-luxury vacation spot that one could ever go to. And, did I forget to mention that it’s in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea? This week the internet was abuzz with news about Shebara that’s set to welcome guests this month. The one thing that makes Saudi hospitality, and that will make Shebara a must visit destination is the Kingdom’s tradition of Hafawah (genuine, caring hospitality from the heart).

Behind Shebara is Red Sea Global (RSG), a closed joint-stock company owned by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund. It’s a vertically integrated estate developer with a diverse portfolio across tourism, residential, experiences, infrastructure, transport, healthcare, and services. Already a third resort: Thuwal Private Retreat will open this year and RSG has been behind its refurbishment at Al Wajh Airport.

Now back to Shebara, the first thing you notice is the unique architecture, done by Killa Design. The striking details of its stainless-steel orb above water or on the beach is, I hear, mesmerizing. There’s something futuristic about it too, and it being set on its own island surrounded by nature just hits well in all the right ways. The resort is 16 miles from the mainland, which makes it a 30-40 minutes boat ride or 30-minute sea plane flight from the Red Sea International Airport (RSI).  With 35 beachfront villas and 38 overwater villas, guests will get their privacy and moments of exploration. And the year-round summer temps make it all the more appealing.

There is also world class dining at the resort with five restaurants with modern Japanese-Nikkei, Mediterranean fare, an international brasserie, Levantine, and an adult only pool bar. There’s also a Fitness Center with a spa, and a family and adult-only pool.

To make sure the hotel is eco-friendly- something that’s key for RSG- its solar farm and integrated utilities helps to keep it flowing to genuine sustainable efforts. The water surrounding the resort is some of the most biodiverse waters in the world. It’s looking like it will be a sought-after luxury resort destination. Reservations are being taken with an introductory offer to celebrate the grand opening. For all bookings of two consecutive nights, a third night will be offered on a complimentary basis for a limited time.

Bookings and enquiries can be made by via the resort website and by email at reservations@redseaglobalhospitality.com
