His Presence

God speaks to us continually, and it’s easy to lose sight of that in busyness of everyday life. It’s His nature to communicate with us, and it’s not always through words. I was speaking with a woman last year and she said that she believes that not a day goes by that God doesn’t communicate to His children. We just have to know how to decipher the ways He communicates.

How does He communicate? He flings glorious sunsets across the sky. He speaks in the face of voices of loved ones. He caresses us with gentle breezes that refresh and delights us. He speaks softly in the depths of our spirit, where the Holy Spirit dwells for those who invite Him.

We can find God in each moment, when we have eyes that see and ears that hear. We just need to ask the Holy Spirit to sharpen our spiritual eyesight and hearing. When we discern His presence it makes God proud. We just have to practice looking and listening for Him during quiet intervals. Scripture tells us “If we seek Him we will find Him, when we seek Him with all our hearts” (Jeremiah 29:13). It’s nice when God gives us what we want, but how lovely it is when we have His presence.  It is more precious than any tangible thing to feel that He is near.

Happy Friday!
