What are you mourning over that God has long moved on from?

Sometimes we can lose sight of the fact that everyday, at anytime of the day, we can have a front row seat with the God of the universe.

I, you, we have encountered people who see God of the Old Testament as being a mean, murdering, and harsh God. And sure, I can understand where they’re coming from, especially if they haven’t read the whole Bible in context, with historical and linguistic analysis.

It’s not that God is mean, a murderer, and harsh. He cannot lie.

We as humans tend to desire a position, which brings a title, followers, influence, honor and can inflate the ego if we let it. But, what’s the use of having a position if you don’t hunger more for His presence?

There have been times when I’m driving with the GPS and I feel it doesn’t know where it’s going, so I decide to take a different route, only to find myself lost or locked into a traffic jam.

As believers in God it is our duty to be faithful to what it means to be a Christian. It is our duty to live out the tenants of our faith and let the light of Jesus shine through us. But, how does God measure our faithfulness to Him?

It’s amazing how the body of Christ is so diverse. But it should be of no surprise that the church is diverse because its Head, God the Son is diverse.

Innovation is a key part of life. When we don’t innovate, when we don’t shift (change), we will lose out on growth. God, our Creator is an innovator. He’s often doing something new.

It’s a woman's first job to get to know herself and the first and only way to truly get to know who you are is to find out from your Creator.

To whom much is given, much is required, and that includes our calling and the gifts and talents that come with that calling.

This week I will talk about family. God is asking, “what are you doing with what’s in your hand when it comes to your parents, children, siblings, aunts, uncles, grandparents, grandchildren, and cousins?” Why should God bless us with more or take us to new levels when we haven’t mastered nurturing our own flesh and blood?

Human beings can be impatient, ready for the next thing, when God is asking, “what are you doing with what’s in your hand now- with what I have given you?” Why should God bless us with more or take us to new levels when we haven’t mastered nurturing what we have now?

Have you ever thought that God pulls us like the slings in slingshots so that we can be propelled further?

On this #goodfriday #friday, I found myself in Philippians and Colossians, where I was reminded of how a "real Christian" is supposed to act. If we seek and knock the door will be opened.

People toss people they don’t think they need, people toss their marriage, companies toss employees, and children don’t always take care of what they’ve been given- why? Because we think these things are expendable and we can always get something or someone better.

Breakups aren’t fun. Whether you’re the one broken up with or the breaker upper- there’s emotional pain for both sides. Break ups are a process, full of phases, emotions, highs and lows. But they are also a great way to grow and become a wiser person.

Life has many uncertainties- that’s its certainty. But Jesus is certain and because He is certain we can trust when He’s driving the bus. But, in order to trust Him we must surrender. The bus I decided to hop on, it’s driver and I couldn’t both sit in the driver seat. And just like with God, Him and “we” cannot sit in the driver seat of the route He has planned for our lives.

I can relate to Sarah. She’s a go-getter. I’m a go-getter. Us go-getters make things happen. But despite us go-getters making things happen, there will be times in life that God will make us wait. There are times He will make us all wait for His promises. And there’s nothing worse than having to live with the consequences of not waiting on God.
