Who doesn't love Italy and Puglia at that? DIOR is taking us there for it's 2021 Cruise Show, held on July 22nd for its  audience-free show held behind closed doors. Designed by Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri, the collection will highlight the excellence of this invaluable savoir-faire.

Pierpaolo Piccioli surprised us all at Valentino’s womenswear AW20 show in Paris. Unlike Hedi Slimane, Pierpaolo isn’t predictable, and missing from this collection are his typical volumes and bright colors. This collection is all about tailoring and fluidity- incorporating masculinity into the femininity.

Clare Waight Keller’s AW20 ready-to-wear collection for Givenchy is all about the strong woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. Themed ‘Arthouse Beauty’ with references to the French silver screen and the elusive arthouse heroine, it focuses on abstract musings of the female body in performance art.

Ever the person that can deeply relate to others, womenswear Creative Director, Maria Grazia Chiuri mapped out an atlas of emotions through the prism of her teenage diary for the FW20-21 ready-to-wear collection.

As AW20 Paris Fashion Week is in full swing, Friday night’s coveted spot of shows went to Celine. Creative director, Hedi Slimane took us back to the 70s with oh-so very French and British looks, with hints of American style as well.

Why should you care about haute couture you ask? Because it’s an expression of talent, given by God to fashion designers. The Bible tells us that God, amongst many of His talents, is a fashion designer too. He designed Adam and Eve’s covering in the garden, and Revelation 4 tells us he has a robe, whose train takes up the throne room of Heaven. Paris’ SS20 Haute Couture week is a an expression of design talent from the thousands of hours of bead work, embroidery, cutting, and stitching that an atelier engages in to produce a collection. The SS20 season was dominated by the Lebanese, who are exceptionally talented in couture, and who created the baddest of the baddest pieces.

With all that is going on in Lebanon at the moment, Lebanese couture designer, Georges Chakra wanted to pay homage to his country.
